Volunteer with us. Our dedicated volunteers are a vital part of the RSACC team, enabling us to deliver our range of support services for survivors. We are NOW open for NEW volunteer applications to directly support survivors of sexual violence.

Application DEADLINE is Friday 8th September 9am. The roles are:

  • Emotional Support Volunteer
  • Volunteer group facilitator
  • Volunteer Counsellor

We really value our brilliant volunteers who provide so much high quality specialist support to sexual violence survivors.

We are signed up to the Tees Valley Volunteer Charter as a way of ensuring we continue to provide a positive volunteering experience throughout our growing volunteer programme.

Who can volunteer?

Our volunteers come from all sorts of backgrounds and bring a variety of skills and experience. What they all have in common is a commitment to our mission and an incredible enthusiasm and dedication.

We only accept applications from women over 18 due to the sensitive nature of our work and the fact that the overwhelming majority of our clients are women who only want to be supported by a women.

What is involved?

We provide in depth, specialist training to all of our volunteers. Following this introductory training, additional inductions are provided for each of the voluntary roles.

  • Volunteer Counsellor

    Volunteer counsellors support survivors of sexual violence through 20 weeks of person centred counselling. We have counselling roles for volunteers who who hold a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Counselling or Foundation Degree in Counselling or who are in the 2nd year of their Counselling Diploma or Foundation Degree.

  • Emotional Support Line and Emotional Support Email Volunteers

    We offer a telephone Emotional Support Line for survivors who want emotional support from a safe space of their own home. The support line is staffed by volunteers who have completed RSACC in house training programme but may not necessarily hold a counselling qualification. We also have an Emotional Support Email, for those who prefer to contact us online.

  • Trustee Roles

    Opportunities are available to those interested in becoming a Member of the Board of Trustees. Application in the first instance can be made to the CEO acting on behalf of the Management Committee. We are currently recruiting for trustees. For more information go to: http://ow.ly/w3aw50JvrKL

  • Campaign/Activism Volunteers

    Opportunities are available for those who are interested in identifying, developing and delivering high quality campaigns for RSACC with an aim of increasing awareness of key issues, challenging stigma, and ultimately creating a safer, more respectful society.

  • Fundraising Volunteers

    Opportunities are available for those who are interested in identifying, developing and delivering high quality fundraising campaigns and opportunities for RSACC with an aim of increasing unrestricted funds.
