Are you passionate about supporting  children and young people who have experienced sexual violence, to ensure they are informed and empowered through the criminal justice process? The Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre, Darlington and Country Durham (RSACC)  have a full time vacancy for a candidate with the skills and experience of working with children and young people who wants to join our team of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors. 

We are a feminist, women-led charity working to end rape and sexual violence by supporting and empowering survivors across Darlington and County Durham. RSACC was established in 1990 and now supports over 1000 survivors each year. We offer free, safe support to survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives. 

In line with Statutory Guidance, our ISVA service provides information, advice and guidance to survivors through the criminal justice process. Our ChISVA will sit within this team, providing specialist support to children and young people and will work to ensure any barrier young survivors and their families may experience in accessing support are overcome. 

We a looking for a dynamic individual with experience of providing empathetic support to survivors and a passion for supporting children and young people, that wants to bring this to a small local charity and join us in working to end rape and sexual violence in Darlington and County Durham.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience working with children under the age of 13. 

The role will report to the ISVA Manager and sit within the ISVA team. It is a hybrid role, combining some home working with an office day in Darlington, outreach work with clients and working from police stations. The role is full time, and subject to police vetting.

Salary – £29,145 – £32,385
